This is about number of social problems of Hong Kong. The artist sets a scene of a working parent, domestic helper and a kid having dinner. It illustrates the ongoing housing and space problems of Hong Kong. Moreover, it redefines the meaning of ‘family', and rethinks the concept of ‘equality'.

The Treatment

Lion Rock Hill represents the spirit of hard work and solidarity in the hearts of older Hong Kong people, while it symbolizes the strength of uprising in the younger generation. The artist uses the scripts in the "Book of Wong Tai Sin Mantra & Lottery Poetry” of the famous God of healing "Wong Tai Sin Temple" to cover the entire model in a collage way. It presents words like ‘questions’, ‘fortune telling’, ‘illusory’, ‘loyalty’, etc. After the social movement in 2014, the artist expressed the anxiety about the uncertain prospects, the confusion about Hong Kong people's whereabouts, and a state of self-consolation.

Future of Hong Kong (Lion Rock Hill)

After the social movement in Hong Kong in 2014, the artist created a Victoria Harbor model, with text and images gathered from the ‘Chinese Almanac’. The texts are selected and collaged in a meaningful way, which expresses her thoughts and voices. Filled with anxiety, confusion and uncertainties. This is a state of self-treatment, using artwork to relieve tension and pacify the inner me.
