This set of works has been inspired by 1950s floral swimming caps. As usual with all of my work nothing has been purchased brand new other than the base buckram and wire. The fabric flowers used were a combination of discarded, found, and donated and I had been collecting them over many years. The swimwear and props seen in this photoshoot have all been sourced from real vintage outlets and charity shops and are also available for hire along with the hats if you require the entire look.

 'Vintage/Retro 1950’s Inspired Flower Swimming hats’- Released 13 May 2021

Installation – Upcycled plastic bags, cutlery, bubble wrap, packaging, rope, cord, fabric scraps, foam, stitching, vinyl, netting.  “Collaboration with musician Belle Scar on her music video entitled ‘The Eeriness’. I designed both her costumes and the full set design installation pieces. The pieces were intentionally dark to make the viewer feel fear, dread, or uneasiness, with slight influence from sealife”

'The Eeriness' - Released November 2020

I started making this collection around June during the UK Lockdown 1 right after the release of my last upcycled plastic flower collection 'Quarantine Jungle'. It initially began as something to do to use up the excess plastic waste that people had collected for me, but transformed into a collection in its own right when the ideas kept flowing.

The collection consists of x6 large turbans and x9 small buttons using black and white packaging and fabric from cut-up waste clothing on buckram bases.

x1 tight-fitting mini dress with frilled edges paired with and necklaces and earrings.

Everything featured in this collection has been made by myself using waste materials (plastic bottles, bags, containers, straws, cutlery).
