An intimate collection of poems and songs journeying through politic, place and early womanhood.

Coming Of Age

Authymn - Collaborative Poem

A series of Oil Pantings created through the 2020/21 Pandemic. I was exploring notions of movement through stillness. This year my practice adapted to the needs of my body as I spent much of the year not being able to move. My body was craving other ways to explore depth of movement, and found this through these abstractions and movements of colour.

Metamorphosis

DROUGHT is a 10 year durational, compositional poem. A navigation. A meeting point. Between the prophetic and the real. To recalibrate the fractures. To repair the wound. It is an invocation. A song-story. A broken lullaby. A siren - a recognition of the stories that live within us, and the attempt, the process, the eternal ceremony of letting go.

 It explores the duality of the mirror-myth, interweaving ancient mythology with that written after the event. A possession. It explores internal landscapes and external landscapes. The interplay between the mind-state and the physical. The psychic trauma. The drowning and the release, the burning and the salve. The disentangling of time, and self, and story.

 There are multiple entry points - It started with sound, only the sounds and the words. This can be heard.  Over time there was a need for this to integrate with my body. To engage the body with the journey, with the process. With the release. To find a space big enough to contain this. A need. To bury it. This can be seen. It can also be read. In a quiet place. With not even a whisper. 


A journey to be drenched with freedom

These Are All The Ways My Heart Can Speak

'All The Things They Never Told You' is an immersive multi-media installation exploring art space as place of sanctuary and transformation. The viewer is invited into a 12 minute re-programming unit, where they receive positive messaging in a hypnotic atmosphere to disentangle negative language that has been historically weaponised against women.

​Initially mounted in the pulpit of a church, this iteration explored the hidden spaces of transformation.

First mounted in 2018 in collaboration with Hebden Bridge Arts Festival at Hope Baptist Church, Hebden Bridge. Later mounted at the San Francisco Art Institute, 2019.
