Statement: 
A portrait that shows a human figure from the back, where’s the traditional and realistic composition is tearing apart, originating fragments. Those are spreading little pieces of the person across the space. I took inspiration from a biological process called ecdise, and this metaphors serves to suggest that sometimes we might be inflexible, that we have built our identity like a cocoon that now is hard, and it needs to be broken in order to achieve a healthier state of being. The profile of the face show us that a regenerating process has begun, what introduce the idea of a new cycle. I have chosen not putting the figure on the center to enhance the transformative action. The decentralization had the purpose of deconstructe the pedestal that a center symbolizes in a portrait.

Statement: 
There's an intention for emotional nudity. Her face is scrapped off, tearing apart fragments of her identity, a process of liberation. In her expression there's judgement and understanding. That's how she feels about herself, so it's how she looks at the viewer.
